Only three ingredients coming together in this crunchy on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside, naturally sweetened biscuit. Even though the process is simple, there is nothing plain about the complex flavor of these date biscuits. Once Again Tahini is a versatile ingredient for baking and proves this quality in this recipe. The smooth texture in our tahini is a result of the lightly toasted sesame seeds milled to perfection.

Once Again Tahini is a nutrient dense food naturally extremely low in sugar—without any added sugar. A serving size of two tablespoons contains four grams of carbohydrates, of which three grams are fiber. Dates are the source of natural sweetness in this recipe, while the oats increase the fiber content and gives the texture of a biscuit. In this instance, we are using the word biscuit as the British most commonly use it. As defined by the Cambridge Dictionary, a biscuit is a hard, small, flat cake that is dry and sweet.

The recipe is simple, and we recommend not skipping the refrigeration of the dough before slicing. It is challenging to keep the dough from crumbling.  Therefore, tightly wrap the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate or freeze for about 20 minutes before slicing.

Three-Ingredient Date Biscuits

Breakfast or snack time, these are a perfect fit. Three ingredients come together wonderfully to make these deliciously nutrient rich biscuits.

  • 1 ½ cup of rolled oats
  • 1 ½ cup of dates pitted and softened
  • ½ cup plus 2 tablespoons of Once Again Tahini


  1. In a food processor, add in oats first, then dates, and lastly the tahini. Pulse until it a “ball” is formed. Note, you may need a little more Once Again Tahini, depending on how large and softened the dates are.
  2. Take the dough and place it on parchment paper and form it into a log shape. Place it in the freezer for 20 minutes to make it easier to slice.
  3. After removing it from the freezer, using a sharp knife without ridges, slice the log into approximate ¼ inch rounds and place them on a silicone baking sheet.
  4. Bake them in an oven pre-heated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. These biscuits are not very sweet, but a perfect cracker-like delicacy to pair with either a nice jam or hot soup!
